sprung

officially in love with today.

a day for the trees to finally bloom

a day for sandals

a day for doing homework outside.

a day for reading a childhood favorite (anne of green gables for me.)

a day for pinks and greens and yellows

a day for listening to "annie's song" on repeat

a day for chats with roommates in the kitchen.

a day for cooking german food

a day for dandelions and reminders of their special spot in your heart.

truth be told I always hated spring. it was such a tease. you would look outside and see the flowers blooming and sun shining and want to go outside only to be greeted with the lingering cold of winter. I thought it was cruel. But I guess washington made me biased, because spring is starting to grow on me. 

oh gosh, no pun intended.

a season of firsts

considering i left everyone in the dark almost my entire spring term, i thought i would share some of the things i wasted spent my time doing!

and it is all the faults of these hoodlums:

-drank caffeine (this was a very, very bad idea)

-got my first legitimately bad grade in a class. not just a B, here. a real bad grade. oops.

-pulled my first all nighter

-played racquetball

-longboarding

-i learned how to play chess!

-i lost my first game of chess.

-notice how i haven't said anything about winning a game of chess...

-i saw star wars for the first time ever! (don't judge me)

-and, for the first time in my life i had a bed time that was consistently after 11 p.m.

spring term was trying, rewarding, stressful, and eventful. i'm glad i went and i'm glad i got to do all these memorable things. i know i was supposed to be there, even if i did have a love-hate relationship with my decision to stay.

Over the weekend...

remember these guys? yeah, they're pretty fan-freaking-tastic.

we:

went to a baseball game.

had a bonfire(ish).

played chubby bunny. 

stayed up entirely too late.

(I) watched star wars for the first time IN MY LIFE.

played a spy game and karoline lied to me successfully for the first time ever.

fun fact: i actually hate s'mores.

the champion. i think she ended up with 6.

conner just had his wisdom teeth out so he couldn't play.

karoline and i are glad we actually have friends. not so sure they feel the same but they're stuck with us now!

handsome man-friends

karoline and i have friends! and we've already hung out three times, so it's pretty official. and we've formed a precious little dinner group.

the pizza excursion:

probably one of my favorite pictures from the evening: we may or may not have set the smoke detectors off...

he managed to put his shoe in the door to keep it open and fan the alarm off within fifteen seconds. i don't think i've ever seen someone move that fast.
